Franco speciality is the pizzas they are the real deal, just like the ones in Italy a thin base, slightly scorched and unbelievably tasty. The pasta and sauces are not to the same standard, but I really enjoyed the chicken escalopes in lemon sauce. Pizzas 5 stars, pasta 3 stars, so that averages out at 4 stars.

A fun little place with quirky layout, friendly atmosphere, and good service.
The food, unfortunately, was average. My companion's pizza was just adequate, bland and sparsely decorated with only the most basic toppings.
My "lemonade" was flat, and my "traditional" lasagne was not bolognese, but white. Very, very white. The only colour in my dish was one tablespoon of tomato sauce that was added on top just before serving. Otherwise the dish looked like it had been in the oven since the night before, and the only two noodles I found inside were cooked to mush.
I didn't detect any garlic, onion, or spice in the entire dish, other than a hint of nutmeg. The white cheese inside was sweet. The white sauce was sweet, sweet enough to make me wonder if it was a dessert sauce added by mistake.
In light of Franco's popularity, it's possible they were having an off night. I may go back and try it again, but it will be a while before I can get past the memory of that lasagna. -

Had the misfortune of having a meal here.. from start to finish is was disgusting, actually the worst meal we have ever had. We actually left half way through the main.. the service is appalling, when we complained, the waiter shrugged and laughed. very expensive for the poor quality of food offered, the restaurant is very dated and the service is a joke.. do yourself a favour and avoid at all cost. We heard afterwards, from other people in Peebles that Francos has went down hill.. apparently it was nice once.. but clearly not any more. you have been warned.

Discovered Franco's by accident today and must say that it's been the highlight of the day.The food was fantastic and the chef himself was lovely. The decor may be a bit tired and dated but I can forget this when the food tastes as good.Would recommend to everyone to at least try. Will be back.
